"Waxing left my skin red for days, so I switched to the cooling flashes. Six weeks on the fuzz is barely there and the pinkness is gone, so my concealer stays in the drawer. Each pass takes under a minute."

    Ella.

“Tweezing chin hairs every morning left red dots that foundation could never hide. Three treatments cut the regrowth so much that I only spot check once a week and my skin tone looks more even. Getting ready for work is five minutes faster.”

    Lynn A.

"PCOS left a stubborn shadow of hair on my stomach that made me dread swimwear. Five treatments lightened it so much I wore a two piece last weekend and never felt self conscious. The cooling plate lets me use at level 5 without any sting."

Meet the Lumaniq IPL Hair Removal Device

Salon-style IPL, now yours to run at home, on your own schedule, for a fraction of what a course of salon appointments costs. No clinics, no waiting rooms, no standing appointments to book around your life.

This is how you stop shaving. Every flash drives broad-spectrum pulsed light, 470 to 1200 nm, straight into the pigment of each hair and turns it to heat that destroys hair at the follicle. Keep at it and the hair stops keeping up: it comes back slower, finer and thinner every session, patches stop growing altogether, and smooth stops being a two-day thing and starts being your default. The built-in ice-cooling plate chills the skin through every pulse, so even the bikini line and underarms take it without the sting.

    • Up to 999,999 flashes, enough for years of full-body sessions with no refills or cartridges to buy
    • Built-in ice-cooling plate that takes the heat out of every flash, even on delicate areas like the bikini line and underarms
    • 9 intensity levels and a simple skin test, so you treat at a setting that stays comfortable for your skin
    • Two modes in one device: precise manual flashes for curves like knees and underarms, and fast auto glide for legs and arms
    • Works across face and body: legs, arms, underarms, bikini line, stomach, and lower face

Every device also ships with two bonus heads, an acne head and a skin-rejuvenation head, there when you want them.

Costs a fraction of a single salon laser course, with no per-session fees, memberships or booking fees, and you can treat as often as your schedule needs.

Yes. Lumaniq uses IPL, the same intense pulsed light modality behind many in-salon hair-removal treatments, delivered through a broad-spectrum 470 to 1200 nm flash with a built-in ice-cooling plate for comfort. The difference is cost and convenience: a full course of salon sessions typically runs into the hundreds of pounds and months of booked appointments. With Lumaniq you get salon-style IPL at home, as often as you need it, for a single one-time investment.*

    Sound Familiar?

You might be in the right place if...

...any one of these sounds like the last six months.

    • Shaving every single day and still finding stubble by the evening.
    • Covering up in shorts or swimwear because there's always regrowth to hide.
    • Razor bumps and ingrowns that flare up every time you shave.
    • Money spent on waxing, creams and salon session that never lasted.
    • Strawberry legs and dark dots that stay even right after a fresh shave.
    • Ready to break the razor cycle without booking a course of salon laser.

Any of it sound familiar? Keep scrolling.

    What To Expect

    Your results, week by week

IPL works gradually. Every session weakens the hair a little more, so results build over a full treatment cycle rather than showing after a single flash. Here is the pattern most users describe with consistent use.

Shave and flash three times a week. Nothing dramatic yet, this is the groundwork. Some people notice the first patches starting to come back a little slower and finer.

Drop to twice a week. This is where most people see it. Hair grows back slower, finer and patchier, and there is less to shave between sessions.

Move to a maintenance flash once or twice a month as needed. Regrowth stays minimal and shaving becomes a quick occasional job instead of a daily one.

Individual results vary and depend on hair colour, skin tone, treatment area, hormones and how consistently the device is used.

    How It Works

How the Lumaniq IPL Device is Designed to Work

Salon-style IPL, designed for use at home. Here is what happens to the hair with every flash.

    1

    Shave and Prep the Skin

Remove surface hair and make sure the skin is completely dry so the IPL pulse can target the hair beneath the skin.

    2

    IPL locks onto pigment

Each flash is absorbed by the darker pigment in the hair, focusing the light where regrowth begins.

    3

    Heat reaches the follicle

The absorbed light converts to heat and travels down the hair, disrupting the follicle’s normal growth cycle.

    4

    Less hair comes back

With consistent treatments, regrowth becomes slower, finer and patchier, leaving less hair to deal with.

Individual results may vary. This device is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

    How To Use

Your IPL routine, in three steps

The whole session takes about ten minutes. Here is how it goes.

    Using the Lumaniq IPL device
    1. 1

      Shave and prep

Shave the area, clean it and pat it completely dry. Pop on the protective glasses before you start.

    2. 2

      Choose your intensity

Switch on and select your tested level, one of nine, that stays warm but comfortable. Turn on ice cooling for extra comfort.

    3. 3

      Glide and flash

Hold the window flat to the skin. Use manual flashes on curves like knees and underarms, and auto glide on legs and arms. One flash per spot, then move on.

Always complete a 24-hour skin test on any new area first, and never flash the same spot more than once in a session.

        Frequently Asked Questions

Will it actually work for my skin tone and hair colour?

This is the most important question to answer before you buy, so let's keep it simple. IPL targets the pigment in your hair, which means it works best when there is good contrast between your hair and your skin.

Best results: very fair to medium-brown skin with dark blonde, brown or black hair.

Not suitable: very dark-brown or black skin tones, and light blonde, red, white or grey hair. There simply is not enough pigment for the light to target safely.

Lumaniq IPL skin tone and hair colour compatibility chart

If you are somewhere in between, run the 24-hour skin test on a small area first. Use the chart above to check your match before you order so you know exactly what to expect. No guessing.

How long before I see results, and what should I expect?

Most people start noticing a difference within the first few weeks. Here is the honest timeline.

        • Weeks 1 to 3 (three sessions a week): hair sheds and early patches of regrowth begin to slow.
        • Weeks 4 to 6 (twice a week): regrowth comes back finer, slower and less dense.
        • Week 7 onward (one to two sessions a month): you move into maintenance, topping up only as needed.

IPL is cosmetic hair reduction, not permanent removal, so your results depend on your hair colour, skin tone, the area you treat and how consistent you are. Stick to the schedule and most people see a real drop in how often they need to shave.

        Does the treatment hurt?

No, and comfort was the whole point. Every flash fires through a built-in cooling plate that takes the heat out of the pulse, even on sensitive areas. Most people describe it as a warm, light snap rather than pain.

You start on level one and only move up as far as feels comfortable. Comfort is your limit, not a number on the screen. If a level ever feels too intense, simply drop it back down.

Is this the same technology used in professional salons?

It is the same family of light-based hair reduction, but it is not clinic-strength laser, and that is by design.

Salon lasers use a single concentrated wavelength at high power across short, expensive appointments. Our device uses intense pulsed light (IPL): a broader spectrum of light tuned for comfortable, consistent use at home. That means gentler sessions you can actually keep up with, on your own schedule, at a fraction of the cost of a salon course. You are trading a little raw power for convenience, comfort and a price you do not have to save up for.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, with a little care. The built-in cooling is designed specifically to keep sensitive areas comfortable, and the nine intensity levels let you find a setting that suits you rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all blast.

Always run a 24-hour skin test on any new area first, start on level one, and build up only as far as feels comfortable. If your skin is currently irritated, broken or freshly tanned, wait until it has settled.

        Is this device certified?

Yes. The device is built to recognised electrical and safety standards and ships with protective eyewear as standard. It also has built-in safeguards, including adjustable intensity levels and a skin-contact requirement, so it only fires when it is flush against your skin. If you would like the specific certification details, our support team is happy to share them.

How often should I use the device?

Consistency beats intensity, and the schedule is easy to stick to.

        • Weeks 1 to 3: three short sessions a week.
        • Weeks 4 to 6: twice a week.
        • Week 7 onward: one to two sessions a month to maintain.

You do not have to do your whole body at once. Most people chunk it: arms one day, legs another, underarms and bikini line when it suits them. Little and often is what gets results.

How long does each session take, and is it complicated to use?

It is genuinely simple: shave, choose your level, glide. There are two modes.

        • Auto mode fires continuously as you glide across larger flat areas like legs and arms, so a full leg takes just a few minutes.
        • Manual mode fires one flash at a time for smaller, curved or sensitive spots like underarms and the bikini line.

Most people finish a full-body session in well under half an hour, and single areas in minutes.

How do I make sure I'm using it safely?

The device is designed for safe at-home use, and a few simple habits keep it that way:

        • Always start on level one on any new area.
        • Wear the included protective eyewear.
        • Shave and dry the skin before you flash.
        • Never flash the same spot twice in a row.

The built-in cooling and skin-contact requirement add another layer of protection. Avoid tanned or sunburnt skin, and always run a 24-hour skin test before treating a new area.

How do I do a patch test?

Always patch test a new area 24 hours before your first full session there. It takes two minutes and it is the best way to make sure a setting suits your skin.

        1. Shave and clean the area, then make sure it is completely dry.
        2. Put on the included protective eyewear.
        3. Set the device to level one and flash a small patch of skin once or twice.
        4. If that feels comfortable, move up one level and flash the same patch again.
        5. Stop at the highest level that still feels comfortable. That is your working level for that area.

Now wait 24 hours. If the skin looks and feels normal, with no lasting redness, blistering, swelling or irritation, you are good to treat the whole area at that level. If you see any reaction, do not use the device on that area and give your skin time to settle.

Repeat the patch test whenever you start a new body area, and again if your skin has changed, for example after sun exposure, a tan or a long break between sessions.

Where on my body can I use it?

Face and body. It is designed for legs, arms, underarms, bikini line (not the genital area), stomach, chest, back, and the lower face below the cheekbones.

Avoid the eye area, lips, brows, scalp, ears and nostrils. Never flash directly over tattoos, permanent make-up, dark moles, large freckles or birthmarks. When in doubt, skip the spot and keep the light on clear skin.

Do I need to use a serum or gel with it?

No gel needed. Unlike some devices, you do not have to buy or apply anything extra. Just shave the area, make sure the skin is clean and completely dry, and glide. That is it. A close shave and dry skin give you the cleanest, most comfortable flash.

Will it help if I have PCOS or hormonal hair growth?

A lot of our customers deal with denser or faster hair growth, sometimes linked to hormones. IPL can help reduce how much you have to shave, but it is worth being realistic: hormonally driven hair can regrow faster, so you may need more frequent maintenance sessions to stay on top of it.

It is a cosmetic tool, not a medical treatment, so it will not change what is driving the growth. If your hair growth is sudden or you suspect an underlying condition, it is worth speaking to your GP alongside using the device.

What do the acne and skin rejuvenation attachments do?

Your device is a 3-in-1 system. Alongside the main hair removal head, it includes two additional attachment heads that work as part of your wider skincare routine to help your skin look clearer and healthier over time. The hair removal head does the heavy lifting on unwanted hair; the extra heads are there for the days you want to give your skin a little more care. Full instructions for each attachment are included in the box.

How long does the device last, and do I need to replace anything?

Nothing to replace, and nothing that runs out on you. The lamp is rated for up to 999,999 flashes, which is far more than a lifetime of full-body sessions for most people. There are no cartridges to buy, no refills and no subscriptions. Once it is yours, it is yours.

Is this device safe for everyone?

IPL is not suitable for everyone, and we would rather be upfront. Please do not use it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, under 16, or if any of the following apply to you:

        • light-sensitivity, or you take photosensitising medication;
        • diabetes, or circulation, healing or bleeding disorders, or you take anticoagulants;
        • severe heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, an immune disorder or an active serious illness;
        • you are using isotretinoin, strong acids or skin-lightening treatments;
        • you have recently had fillers or injectables.

If any of these apply, or you are unsure, check with your GP first. This device is for cosmetic use only and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

What if my device stops working or arrives faulty?

You are covered. Every order includes a 90-day results guarantee and a 1-year limited warranty. If your device arrives faulty or stops working within the warranty period, get in touch and we will sort a replacement. No drama, no hoops.

        * Intense pulsed light (IPL) has been studied in peer-reviewed clinical literature for the reduction of unwanted hair. The Lumaniq IPL Hair Removal Device uses the same intense pulsed light modality referenced in this research. IPL delivers cosmetic hair reduction rather than permanent removal, and periodic maintenance sessions may be needed. Results vary by hair colour, skin tone, treatment area, and consistency of use. This device is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition.
